The international relations are the crucial problem in our modern world. On the one hand, rich and potent countries gather together to discuss and solve world different problems, on the other hand, they stick to their own policies and dont accept compromises. Would one language help?
I suppose it would make the international relations easier, but when it comes to politics this could be the only advantage. But if we take into consideration the relations between ordinary people travelling around the world, I suppose that the Esperanto' language would be of much help. Both, the possibility and the opportunity to communicate with strangers could prevent a lot of serious troubles and would make it easier to get to know other peoples culture, tradition and customs. (If there was only one language spoken around the world we wouldnt have to study languages and passing exams (!) - this could also by nice)
But what about those who love studying languages, what about those who, through the languages, enter in the other cultures? Knowing foreign language can give us a lot of pleasure it is also a key, which not everyone can have to something new and exciting.
Although one language spoken worldwide would definitely make our lives less complicated, the variety of the world treasures (such as different languages, cultures, history etc) is something not to be lost.
